WHAT IS MEDICAL MICROPIGMENTATION?

By applying a customised mixture of unique pigments to the skin, medical micropigmentation, also known as medical camouflage, is a long lasting solution for lessening the visibility of burns, vitiligo, scars, and stretch marks. It can also be used to non-surgically recreate the areolar area.

This is a truly unique procedure that can address a variety of issues, including post-surgical results (breast augmentation, tummy tuck, scarring), hypopigmentation (loss of pigment), hyperpigmentation (dark patches), absence of areolas, and surgical scars. Our experts will customise your treatment to meet your needs, regardless of your goals. We only use reliable pigment suppliers on the market, so you don't need to worry about your safety. Our medical aestheticians are trained to the highest health and safety standards.

How does it work?

Medical Tattooing is the process of implanting medically certified pigment into the skin creating definition, shading and colour. It can treat the following conditions:

- scarring

- skin grafts

- nipple / areola

- cleft lip

- port wine stains

- lack of pigment in skin

- lack of hair on brows, lash line and scalp

Consultation

Your Medical Tattoo Journey

Making your piercing experience as easy and comfortable as possible is our main objective. Every step of the way, from your initial consultation to aftercare, we offer expert support and our knowledgeable staff is here to make sure you have a professional and safe experience. We're committed to using the best standards of sanitation and care to create piercings that go well with your style.

Before discussing reasonable expectations and estimating a set of procedures to achieve the best result, we perform a thorough assessment for medical tattoo and semi-permanent makeup services. Since most medical and/or cosmetic tattooing treatments are performed on sensitive areas, we would advise getting a patch test during the consultation phase and scheduling a treatment for a different day to reduce the possibility of allergic reactions. For optimal procedure outcomes, we also verify colour matching during consultation if necessary.

A 24-hour Patch test must be finished before your appointment for this service. You can schedule it separately or during the consultation phase. The test patch needs to be completed before we can move forward with the appointment.

During the consultation phase, we conduct a thorough assessment and provide you with advice on how much it will cost to achieve reasonable improvement results. On average, you need a minimum of 2-3 sessions for paramedical tattoo services, and around 2 sessions for semi-permanent make up procedures.

Before the procedure, you should refrain from all forms of alcohol consumption and avoid using blood thinners or anything that contains caffeine. To ensure that your sugar level and pain tolerance are sufficient, we advise getting enough sleep and eating a healthy meal before the appointment. Following the procedure, we provide you with an aftercare guide to help in the best possible healing and suggest creams for the area that was treated.

Which skin conditions are treated with medical tattooing?

Numerous skin conditions can be treated with medical tattooing. Among them are:

Scarring: White scars can be covered up with medical tattoos using colour that blends in with the surrounding skin.

Cleft lip: Modern methods can assist in masking the cleft lip's appearance.

Skin grafts: Skin grafts that have lost colour can be repigmented using a variety of methods.

Areola and nipple: After gynaecomastia, breast reduction or uplift, gender reassignment, or breast cancer surgery, medical tattooing is frequently used to improve the definition or appearance of the areola and nipple.

Port wine stains: You can use medical tattooing to lessen the visibility of these stains.

Vitiligo: Methods for restoring pigmentation to vitiligo-affected skin areas

Absence of hair on the scalp, lash line and brows: For those who have lost their hair due to alopecia or other medical conditions, medical tattooing can be used to simulate hair on the scalp, eyebrows, or lash line.

Skin devoid of pigmentation: In places of the skin where natural pigmentation is lacking, medical tattooing can be used to add pigment.

Medical tattooing can help you feel more confident and at ease in your own skin by improving each of these skin conditions.

BEFORE

The area you are treating determines the course of your pre-treatment care. To make sure you don't have any negative reactions to the ingredients in the pigments, we'll do a patch test. We will also conduct a color-matching session and determine your skin type.

Aspirin, alcohol, and anti-inflammatory drugs must be avoided 48 hours before the procedure.

Depending on the services you choose, there are different pre-treatment practices to follow. During the consultation phase, each of these will be covered and explained in detail.

AFTER

First 3-5 days, you would expect blood and lymph to move up to the epidermal layer, where they create a crust that eventually peels off.

Most treatments require a top-up. 50% lighter pigment may appear after the first session, particularly on certain types of skin tissue (vitiligo, stretch marks, and scars), therefore, we require extra sessions to enhance the colour and make any last tweaks.

Following your treatment, we advise using the aftercare products that were given to you. Don't scratch your skin either. Keep lotions, oils, moisturisers, and makeup away from treated areas.

Yes, at our studio we aim to reduce visibility of the area of concern and make sure you can achieve the result as close to natural as possible.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding we will not be able to do the procedure for you, as your body is already going through a lot of changes and we do not want to have any possible risks for you and your baby. We are happy to see you at our studio after 12 months, or once the baby is no longer dependent on you.

We would need to check which medical condition you have as certain conditions are not safe for a procedure to be done. If you have a doubt you can contact your GP beforehand to check if it is safe to proceed with the treatment.

Medical Micropigmentation is slightly different to a tattooing process as the application and set of pigment used for it may vary.
